Sentimental to the core, Sara strives to craft authentic imagery that captures the essence of life, enduring through generations. With a genuine interest in understanding each family's unique narrative, Sara approaches every session with an open heart and a keen eye for storytelling. Her goal is to foster a relaxed atmosphere, allowing families to be themselves while she gently guides the process. Sara's passion lies in preserving the fleeting moments and the nuances of life that often go unnoticed. Years later, her images will serve as cherished memories, reflecting the personalities, connections, and joys shared by your family.

LET'S CONNECT

As a family documentarian and visual storyteller for her own family, Sara’s muses and passion for photography stemmed from her two children and not wanting to miss or forget a moment. Having lost her mother, she’s become increasingly aware of the power of photos to hold onto the ones you love and the memories that can fade over time without them. As an experienced early childhood special educator, Sara is ecstatic that she’s found a way to combine her passions of working with babies, children, and families and photography to tell unique family stories and capture meaningful memories for others.

As an experienced special educator, I’m also very sensitive to individual differences and needs. We’ll work together to ensure you have just the right guidance through the planning process and during the session so everyone knows what to expect and feels comfortable.
When you look back at your photos I want you to feel the moments and know that we captured memories that reflect who you are individually and within your relationships.

Photos are like time capsules preserving time, relationships, treasured memories, and feelings before they fade. Life can feel like it moves quickly, especially when you have children, and moments today will become treasured memories tomorrow.

I want to capture your lives and connections authentically and creatively so that not only will they be treasures, but also works of art to enjoy for years to come. We will spend time getting to know each other through pre-planning, so when we meet in person we can jump right in, explore, and capture beautiful and emotive photos - no pressure, no specific posing, or saying “cheese” for the camera. As an experienced early childhood special educator, I always come ready to play and nurture your babies and children. Your home doesn’t need to be perfect and you don’t need to spend weeks searching for the “perfect” outfit. You just need to be you.

My style & approach

You are you, therefore each session is unique. Just be yourselves and I’ll follow the lead of your baby, children, and family.

I won’t run through a list of poses and won’t ask your kids to "say cheese.” I strive to create images that are creative and emotive. I want you to be moved every time you view them.

I want to capture the real you - the perfectly imperfect. The joy, the silliness, the chaos, and even the tears. Life is real and real is beautiful.

Documenting the moments is documenting your family history. This is how memories are made.

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME

I worked with a wide range of children and families which shaped me not only as a mother and photographer but as a person. I believe in finding everyone’s strengths and passions and finding every way possible to uplift them.
We can’t live in a box and all feelings matter and are part of our human experience. I’m the first one to cry at a commercial and my kids look for my tears when they do something special or write me a sweet card. I’ve even shed a tear during a session during a sweet moment or when someone feels strong emotions. I want others to feel safe around me because your story matters and our feelings matter.
Parents are the first connection to a child’s world. It’s a big responsibility and we won’t always be perfect as parents, but love is all you need. And there are so many ways we show our kids in little ways every day through our actions, our voices, and our connections. This is what I love to document because the little things show kids who we are.
I’m thankful for my husband, an architect and organizer, so our house doesn’t fill up with everything my kids make or find, though I definitely save my fair share! Kids grow so fast and I find myself wanting to hold onto all of it. And photos hold me close to all the memories so it’s important for me to capture these little moments for families as well.
When I see someone who needs help, I often want to jump in whether helping a lost child reconnect with family or nearly delivering a baby on the street! (Yes, this did happen, but everyone was safe!). Truly, we are only as strong as our community and I believe in lifting others up when they need it most. I also donate each year o organizations that support racial and social justice and believe in volunteering.
